Activity During WWII

He was inducted on January 14, 1943. After his basic training at Camp Swift, Texas, he went to Camp Shanks, New York, where he embarked for overseas on August 21, 1943. He served in Oran, Algiers, Bizerte and Tunis in North Africa. Attached to the 803rd Military Police Battalion, he policed Naples, Port and City, from November 1943 until early in 1944. Proceeding through Anzio, he went on to Rome, where he served ten weeks. Upon his return to Naples he aided in setting up Port and City Police Protection. On December 15, 1945, he was discharged at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
