Activity During WWII

Enlisted in the U.S. Navy and became a naval aviator, and served as a fighter pilot aboard the USS Hancock in the Pacific. He continued his service after WWII, retiring as a Captain and was decorated with the Air Medal with two Gold Stars, Presidential Unit Citation with Bronze Star, Asiatic-Pacific Medal with two Battle Stars, and seven other ribbons.
