Activity During WWII

He was inducted on October 12, 1944. Attached to the 99th Infantry Battalion, he trained at Camp Blanding, Florida, and at Camp Shanks, New York. On March 1, 1945, he landed at Le Havre, France and from there fought as a rifleman to Nuremburg, Germany. Transferred to the 101st Allied Airborne Army, he was stationed at Berlin, Germany until May 6, 1945. He was awarded the European Theatre of Operations Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theatre Campaign medal, the German Occupation Ribbon and a Star for the Battle of the Danube River. On April 23, 1946, he was discharged on points from Fort Dix, New Jersey.
