Vincent L. Miller enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 years of age on 26 December 1943. Following basic training in Sampson New York, Vince went to the Navy Electrician school in Maryland. His first assignment was aboard a Landing Craft Infantry-Rocket. His military career spanned 21 years and three wars; WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He retired 10 September 1965 aboard the USS Kearsarge (CV 33) as an Internal Communications Electrician having achieved the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
