Activity During WWII

He was sworn into the Army at the military induction center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas on 11 June, 1942. He received his basic training and additional training in preparation for combat in the European Theater Of operations. He was assigned to Camp Kilmer for further infantry, small arms and rifle training. He received special training as a military policeman. He was shipped out of New York city on 16 October 1942 for England. He was assigned to the 1736th Security group. He served in Europe until 14 June 1944 when he was shipped back to the United States and on a troop train to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri where he received his Honorable Discharge on 23 October 1945. He served 1 year, 8 months and 10 days in the United States and 1 year 8 months and 3 days in Europe. He received the Good Conduct medal, WWII victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern theater of operations medal.
