Rank: Private First Class. Inducted into the United States Army December 9, 1943 at Indianapolis, Indiana. Following Basic and Advanced Infantry Training, he was deployed to the European Theater of Operations. Served as a Rifleman with the 331st Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry AKA: Thunderbolt Division attached to the U.S. First Army. His division participated in the Battle of the Bulge against the German armed forces (Battle Dates: December 16, 1944-January 25, 1945) Ardennes-Alsace Campaign. On January 13, 1945 he was mortally wounded, with burial in the Henri-Chapelle Battlefield Cemetery; Ellpen, Belgium. Succeeding hostilities in Europe, his family requested that he be buried with Military Honors at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery Location: Henri-Chapelle, Belgium. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his ultimate sacrifice in defense of his country.
