Activity During WWII

She joined the U.S. Navy Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) in 1943 as a naval officer and served from 1943 to 1947 teaching ships and aircraft recognition in Northampton, Massachusetts; serving as U.S. Navy procurement officer in Florida; and as educational services Officer at the U.S. Navy Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Extremely proud of her wartime service, she was retired on disability as a Lieutenant, and was awarded the American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal.
