Activity During WWII

He joined the U.S. Army at the age 17. Completed his training as an Airborne Infantryman assigned to the Glider Corps. They landed in Cherbourg, France, following the Normandy invasion, and his Gilder Corps was reassigned to the 82nd Airborne Division. After Germany’s surrender, his division returned to America to train for the invasion of Japan. After the Japanese surrender, he was discharged in 1946.
