Entered the Navy at Naval Receiving Station, New Haven, Connecticut and attended basic at Great Lakes, Illinois, and service schools at Naval Training Station, Chicago, Illinois. Additional duty stations included Personnel Separation Center, Sampson, New York, Receiving Station, Brooklyn and Personnel Separation Center, Lido Beach, Long Island, New York. Awarded the WWII Victory Medal and an American Theater Medal.
