Activity During WWII

He was inducted on October 7, 1943. After basic training at Camp Upton, New York, he was assigned as an instructor in training illiterates at Pine Camp, New York. he then attended Officer's Candidate Medical Administration at Camp Barkley, Texas. Upon graduating as a Second Lieutenant on March 1, 1944, he was sent to Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Virginia for a course in physical reconditioning. He then served in the physical and educational reconditioning at Nichols General Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky until he was sent to Manila, Philippine Islands on September 1, 1944. There he was successively Personal Officer, Adjutant and Executive Officer of the 360th Station Hospital. Later he was transferred to the 10th General Hospital, Manila, where he was Assistant Adjutant. he was discharged in April 1947.
