Inducted October 10, 1942, Ft. Hayes, Ohio. Trained as a Cannoneer. Departed for Algeria August 1943. As part of the 976th Field Artillery Battalion, he participated in 5 battles/campaigns: Naples-Foggia; Rome-Arno; Southern France; Rhineland; Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Service and Campaign Ribbon WWII, and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars. Honorably discharged October 27, 1945 at Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania.
