Activity During WWII

In June of 1943 he was called for Navy service and was trained at the Navy's Electrician Mate's School at Sampson, New York On April 19, 1944, assigned to Submarine Division 142, he left for overseas duty. In March 1945 he was transferred to the USS Seafox (SS-402) and made two war patrols aboard this vessel. On February 2, 1946, he returned to the United States and on March 21, 1946 was honorably discharged from the service at Lido beach. He was awarded the Submarine Combat Pin, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with two Stars, the America Theatre and WWII victory Medals.
