Induction at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 30 July 1943; Arrived Camp Fannin on August 9, 1943, Company C, 62nd Battalion, 19th Regiment Iroquois-Roger's Rangers; Departed Camp Fannin on December 1943 to Camp Rucker, Alabama; Departed from Camp Rucker to Maui, April 1944, part of 98th Infantry Division for Island Defense and preparation to invade Japan in Operation Olympic; Arrived with first Army unit to land in Wakayama, Japan on 27 September 1945 and billeted at Osaka College until Separation on 22 December 1945.
