Rank: Private First Class. Inducted into the United States Army June 10, 1943 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. Following recruit and advanced infantry training, he was deployed to the European Theater of Operations. He served as a Rifleman with the 318th Infantry Regiment, a subordinate unit of the Eightieth Infantry AKA: Blue Ridge Division, attached to the U.S. Third Army. Tuesday, March 13, 1945 he was killed in action, when his division stormed across the Our River and Sauer River at Wallendorf, Germany. Personnel from a Grave Registration Company buried him in the Hamm Battlefield Cemetery, Hamm Luxembourg. In the post-war era, this Soldiers’ family requested that he be buried with Military Honors at Luxembourg American Cemetery Location: Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
