Rank: Second Lieutenant. Inducted into the United States Army October 29, 1942 at Pueblo, Colorado. As a graduate of the Officer Candidate School, he received his commission, with the rank of Second Lieutenant. He served as an infantry officer with the 378th Infantry Regiment an element of the Ninety-Fifth ‘Victory’ Division, attached to the U.S. Third Army Location: European Theater of Operations. Sunday, November 26, 1944 he was mortally wounded, during his division drive toward Germanys’ Saar River. Personnel from a Grave Registration Company buried him the Limey Battlefield Cemetery at Toul, France. In the post-war era, this Soldiers’ family requested that he be buried with Military Honors at Lorraine American Cemetery Location: St. Avold (Moselle), France. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
