Rank: Private First Class. Inducted into the United States Army August 28, 1942 at Portland, Oregon. Following recruit and advanced infantry training, he was deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operations. He served as a Rifleman with the 128th Regiment an element of the Thirty-Second ‘Red Arrow’ Division, attached to the U.S. Sixth Army. Reported Missing in action or buried at sea Saturday, October 6, 1945 succeeding a combat engagement with the Imperial Japanese forces Location: Philippine Islands. In remembrance of the brave, his name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Location: Fort Bonifacio, Manila, Philippine Islands. This American Patriot received the following decorations posthumously: Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. The Bronze Star was awarded to this Soldier for Bravery, Act of Merit and Meritorious Service in Combat, and the Purple Heart for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
