Activity During WWII

On March 9, 1943, he was inducted into the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army. His basic training was begun at Camp Butner, North Carolina where he was stationed for nine months with Company D, 303rd Medical Battalion, 78th Infantry Division. He left for overseas duty in the European Theatre where he participated in the Rhineland Campaign and the Battle of the bulge. He was awarded the Meritorious Wreath with three Battle Stars, the European Theatre of Operations Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, WWII Victory Ribbon and the Good Conduct Ribbon. Under the point system, he was honorably discharged on April 28, 1946 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
