Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on June 6, 1941. He took his boot training at Parris Island, South Carolina with the 1st Unit and Squadron I. He participated in the Battles of Midway, Guadalcanal and Marianas under Vandergrift. He was returned to the United States and hospitalized at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital, following which he returned to active duty in the Marine Corps. On March 6, 1947, he was honorably discharged in New York City where his enlistment terminated.
