Served in European theater operations as a master sergeant aboard a B 24 liberator bomber named 'Rugged Buggy' the left wing was shot destroying it at 18,000 feet bailing out he was captured and sent to a Stalag. He escape two times and recaptured sent 3 stalags 17 B, Luft 1 and 7 A.
