Served in the Pacific theater of operations in Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941 aboard the USS Oklahoma that was Torpedo by the Japanese and sank with the loss of 429 men. he was one of the 429 men, Missing in Action for years and through DNA testing his remains were recovered. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 and died at the age of 20.
