Fought in Italy with the 636Th Tank Destroyer Battalion, Reconnaissance Company. He was hospitalized for an unknown reason from January 14th to February 15th (1944). Member of CP group, he was hit by a mortar shell when he had been driving for the Battalion Commander during an heavy artillery attack (and small arms fire) on June 1st. Buried at Sicily-Rome American Cemetery.
