Activity During WWII

On October 10, 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps. After his training at the Brooklyn U.S. Naval Hospital, he was assigned to the First Marine Force, 9th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, Fleet Marine Force, First Provisional Brigade. He served on North Atlantic sea duty. Transferred to the Pacific theatre he was on active duty in Guadalcanal, Russell Islands, Marshall Islands, Mariana Islands and Hawaiian Islands. He was awarded three Theatre Ribbons, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. On November 17, 1945, he was discharged at Lido Beach, New York.
