He was inducted on June 27, 1944. He received his basic training at Sheppard Field, Texas, and then was graduated from the Army Air Forces Training School at Chanute Field, Illinois. Following his training he served at Maxwell Field, Alabama before going overseas to the Pacific Theater of Operations. he was attached to the 97th Depot Repair Squadron, 22nd Air depot Group. he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theatre Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. On May 20, 1946, he was discharged from Fort Dix, New Jersey.
