He enlisted in the Army in July of 1942. He was connected with the Judge Advocate General's Office at the Brooklyn Army base. He subsequently served aboard Army Transports, conveying troops overseas. He was relieved of his duties in order to accept an appointment as a Warrant Officer in the Engineers Corps. He was hospitalized in March 1946 and was discharged in April 1946.
