Decorations and Citations awarded were European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars per WDGO #33/45; American Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Ribbon per SO #11/44 Headquarters 7th Infantry, Purple Heart per GO #26/44 Headquarters 37th General Hospital; wounds received in action on May 23, 1944 in Italy. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army with a certificate awarded as a testimonial of fidelity and obedience.
