Enlisted into the Army Air Corps during WWII and was part of the 1st Air Cargo Resupply Squadron stationed overseas. He was a Sergeant and part of the China-Burma-India group and his outfit was the last to leave Burma. Received the American Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He left with an honorable discharge after serving for four years.
