Activity During WWII

Service in the US Army Corp of Engineers. His unit built airstrips on Okinawa and other Pacific Islands to allow heavy bombers bring the war to the Japanese homeland. He then served in Okinawa and other Pacific islands in World War II, and was mustered out of the Army as a 1st Lieutenant after serving a year in post-war Japan. In recognition of his service to his country, he was awarded the Legion of Merit and several other decorations.
