Rank: First Lieutenant. He served with the 18th Pursuit (Interceptor) Squadron, 23rd Air Base Group, and a subordinate unit of the Eleventh U.S. Army Air Forces. His unit was based at Elmendorf Airfield near Anchorage, Alaska Location: Northern Pacific Theater of Operations. The 18th Pursuit Squadron was the first Army Air Corps unit to be assigned to Alaska, arriving at Elmendorf in February of 1941. Friday, November 28, 1941 he was reported missing in action, during a Flight off the Coast of Alaska. In remembrance of the brave, his name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at Honolulu Memorial Location: Honolulu, Hawaii. In his Memory and Honor, a cenotaph memorial has been placed at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. This American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
