Rank: Sergeant. Inducted into the United States Army Air Corps September 22, 1942 with induction at Denver, Colorado. After completing the required training phases, he was designated to attend the Flight Aviation Training Program. He served as a B-24 ‘Liberator’ Bomber crewmember, assigned to the 831st Bomber Squadron, 485th Bomber Group, a subordinate unit of the U.S. Fifteenth Army Air Forces Location: Mediterranean Theater of Operations. His unit was based at the Venosa Airfield in Venosa, Italy. Thursday, April 20, 1944 he was reported missing in action, when he failed to return to base from a mission. In remembrance of the brave, his name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at North Africa American Cemetery Location: Carthage, Tunisia. In his Memory and Honor, this American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
