Activity During WWII

At 15 he walked into a draft office and fudged his age as 18. He was accepted and shipped off to boot camp. After boot camp he joined the 1st Marine Division in North China in December 1945. The 1st Marine Division was sent to China to accept the surrender of the Japanese Army. He remained in China for two years.
