Activity During WWII

Rank: Technical Sergeant. Inducted into the United States Army Air Corps November 10, 1941 with induction at Fort Logan, Colorado. After completing his basic military training, he was designated to attend the Flight Aviation Training Program. He served as a B-26 ‘Marauder’ Bomber crewmember, assigned to the 444th Bomber Squadron, 320th Bomber Group, a subordinate unit of the U.S. Twelfth Army Air Forces Location: Mediterranean Theater of Operations. His unit was based at the Venosa Airfield in Venosa, Italy. Wednesday, August 4, 1943 he was reported missing in action, when he failed to return to base from a mission. In remembrance of the brave, his name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at North Africa American Cemetery Location: Carthage, Tunisia. In his Memory and Honor, this American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
