Rank: Private. Inducted into the United States Army Air Corps June 16, 1941 with induction at San Francisco, California. After completing his basic military training and Ordnance Schooling/Training, he was deployed to the Philippine Islands. His unit was based at Clark Airfield, Luzon Island Location: Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations. He served with the 680th Ordnance (Aviation) Company, 20th Pursuit Squadron, 24th Pursuit Group, V-Interceptor Command, and a subordinate unit of the U. S. Far East Fifth Air Force. Monday, December 8, 1941 he was reported missing in action, when Clark field came under attack by Imperial Japanese Bomber Pilots. In remembrance of the brave, his name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Location: Fort Bonifacio, Manila, Philippine Islands. In his Memory and Honor, this American Patriot was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
