Activity During WWII

He served in the European Theater of Operations, and was attached to the 451st Bomb Group based in Foggia, Italy. He served as a Navigator on a B-24 Liberator. On his final bombing mission, October 13, 1944, his plane was shot down over the alps and he spent the remainder of the war in Stalag VII located in Moosburg, Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart and POW medals along with other decorations.
