Activity During WWII

Commanding officer of the 116th Infantry Regiment, Virginia National Guard, from 1940-1942. He was promoted to Brigadier General on September 23, 1942, and was then appointed as Deputy Commander of the Infantry Replacement Training Camp at Fort Walters, Texas. Left active duty on April 22, 1944, due to the lack of overseas, combat positions for him. Returned to reserve status, and retired in 1953 with the rank of Major General, after almost 46 years of military service.
