Served from June 22, 1945 to August 22, 1945, at the Naval Officer Procurement Station at Cincinnati, Ohio. Joined the U.S. Navy as an officer candidate. Later joined the Army Air Force in November of 1945, and served with them at Bowman Field, and later at Andrews AFB. In addition, she served as a Nurses Aide Volunteer with the American Red Cross, seeing service at the military hospitals at Nichols Army Hospital and the Marine Hospital in Louisville. Served on duty with the Red Cross from July 1943 onwards.
