Activity During WWII

Enlisted and served from 1942 to 1945 as a ball turret gunner on a B-17 heavy bomber with the 379th Bomb Group out of Kimbolton, England. He flew 13 combat missions with the last over Schweinfurt, Germany during which his plane was damaged and had to crash land on its return to Kimbolton. Awarded the Air Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
