Rank: First Lieutenant. He served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer, assigned to Echo Company, Second Battalion, Twenty-Fourth Marines and an element of the Fourth Marine Division. His division participated in the amphibious assault, and occupation of Tinian Island Location: Western Pacific Theater of Operations. On Thursday, July 18, 1944 he was killed in action, during offensive operations against the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces. Personnel from a Graves Registration Company buried him in the U.S. Armed Forces Tinian battlefield cemetery. In the post-war era this Marines’ family requested that he be buried with Military Honors at Honolulu Memorial Cemetery Location: Honolulu, Hawaii, with interment January 28, 1949. This American Patriot received the following decorations posthumously: Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. The Bronze Star was awarded to the Lieutenant for acts of heroism performed under fire, and the Purple Heart for his Heroism and ultimate sacrifice.
