Activity During WWII

He entered the US Army in 1943 and served for three years. He was sent to the European Theater as an infantry replacement and was assigned to Company A, 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division, which had been almost wiped out on D-Day, as a Sergeant Squad Leader. At the end of the war, he was reassigned to the 56th Quartermaster Base Depot in Giessen, Germany, as Transportation Sergeant. Received the Combat Infantryman's Badge and Bronze Star.
