Activity During WWII

He entered the US Army in the Fall of 1943. He trained as an Army medic and arrived in France a month after D-Day and joined the 67th Armored Regiment of the 2nd Armored Division. While riding a half-track on the battlefield, he treated wounded soldiers and carried them back to the aid stations. His unit battled through France into Belgium, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, crossed the Rhine into Germany and marched into Berlin. Received the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Discharged in the fall of 1945.
