Activity During WWII

He was the Battalion Electrician, Battalion Photographer, and reconnaissance scout for the 150th Combat Engineer Battalion (150th.com). He was awarded the Bronze Star, good conduct medal, and soldier medal. He had been wounded many time in battle, often minor shrapnel. He never put in for the Purple heart though. His outfit did the first assault crossing (bridging) of the Rhine River into Germany under continuous hostile small arms and artillery fire. He survived until the ripe age of 97, and attended many of the 60 reunions these gentlemen all had after the war!
