Activity During WWII

He served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant Company "C" 271st Infantry as a light machine gunner and was in battles in Algeria-French Morocco, Tunisia, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, American Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was captured in Northern Africa, and was a POW for nine months. He served three years, eight months, and thirty days in the service of his country.
