Activity During WWII

Rank: Private First Class. He was inducted into the United States Marine Corps April 21, 1940 at Savannah, Georgia. Following his Basic Military Training at the Marine Barracks Parris Island, South Carolina; he completed infantry training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. And along with any additional training; he was deployed to the Southwestern Pacific Theater of Operations. He served in Company Echo as a Rifleman, assigned to the Second Battalion, Fifth Marines and an element of the First Marine ‘the Old Breed’ Division. His Division participated in the amphibious assault, and occupation of Guadalcanal Island. On Monday, November 2, 1942 he was reported missing in action, after a combat engagement with the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces. In remembrance of the brave, his name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at: Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Location: Fort Bonifacio, Manila, Philippines. He served his Country with Pride and Honor. In his Memory, this American Patriot received the following decorations posthumously: Purple Heart, Navy-Marine Corps Medal. The Purple Heart was awarded for his Heroism, and ultimate sacrifice.
