Activity During WWII

Entered into active service on November 23, 1942 at Fort Meade, Maryland. He attended Army Airforce training school at Scott Field in St Louis, Missouri for radio operator training. He was sent to Harlingen Army Airfield in Texas for aerial gunner training. He received the AAF Air Crew Member Badge (Wings) and MKM Rifle 1903 Arial Gunner Badge. His military specialty was armorer gunner (612). He fought in the following battles and campaigns: No Apennines, Po Valley, Rhineland, Air Combat Balkans, Central Europe. He was promoted to Sergeant and received the following citations and awards: European-African-Middle Eastern with five Bronze Stars, Air Medal, And Good Conduct Medal.
