Activity During WWII

He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944 and completed basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina.  He was shipped to the Pacific and assigned to a reserve unit for the invasion of Iwo Jima.  He was accepted to the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia and was assigned there when the war ended.
