Entered service as a PVT in the US Army on January 19, 1945, as part of 184th Infantry, 7th Division; Battle of Okinawa; Korean Occupation. At the end of WWII, joined the US Army Air Forces in Seoul, Korea. Served with SQ 3345 Technical Training Wing until November 3, 1948 at Chanute AFB, IL with final rank of SGT. Commendations: WW2 Victory Medal, WW2 Occupation Medal-Korea, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon-1 Bronze Star, American Theater, Good Conduct.
