Activity During WWII

Joined the military after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 7, 1941. He was sworn into the military at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas and was immediately sent to Camp Wallace for basic training. Due to the needs of the service he was fast tracked into the infantry. He received additional infantry training at Camp Campbell, Kentucky and then to Camp Kilmer, New Jersey where he was prepared for duty in the European Theater of Operations. He was assigned to a replacement unit in France. Upon arriving in Liverpool England on a troop transport he was prepared for duty in France as a replacement for a unit that was part of the Normandy Invasion. He served only two months in France before he was killed in action in St. Lo France. He had been promoted to Staff Sergeant prior to his death. He received the Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal, the European Theater Of Operations Medal and the Good Conduct Medal for his services to his country.
