Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the US Navy in 1937. He and his twin brother were stationed on the USS Arizona on the morning of December 7, 1941. He was ordered to abandon ship after the Japanese torpedoed the ship. He kept returning trying to find his brother and later discovered he had been killed shortly after the attack began. He was then assigned to the destroyer USS Macdonough (DD-351) and fought battles across the Pacific until he was discharged in 1945.
