Activity During WWII

He was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the attack occurred. He was gassing up his car for a Sunday outing with friends when a Japanese machine gun shell hit his car. He immediately took command of his anti-aircraft battery and shot down an attacking bomber. The pilot of that plane was wearing a University of Hawaii class ring. He was wounded in the war and recovered at Tripler Medical CEnter in Honolulu.
