He served from July 27, 1945 to December 22, 1946 in Company H, 29th Infantry Regiment United States Forces European Theater. As Guard Patrolman, qualified with MKM M1 Rifle 145. Received Army of Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal. At Camp Grohn Germany, January 1946 to December 1946, he patrolled area around the camp and guarded headquarters warehouse ammunition dumps and motorpools. He was in charge of 10 men at different times. Received Heavy Weapons crewman training at Camp Blanding, FL. Separation at Fort Dix Separation Center. No days lost and recommended for further training.
