Activity During WWII

Rank: Aviation Pilot Second Class. He was inducted into the United States Navy August 5, 1940, at Denver, Colorado with Basic Military Training at the U.S. Naval Training Station San Diego, California. Upon his graduation from Boot Camp he was designated, to attend the Flight Aviation Training Program. As a graduate of the Aviation Cadet program, he accepted his commission and Silver Pilot Wings. And along with any additional training; he was transferred to the United States Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Territory of Hawaii. Thursday, April 8, 1943; he was reported “Missing-in-Action” or Buried at Sea, when he failed to return to Base, while participating in a training mission. In remembrance of the brave, his name is permanently inscribed in the tablets of the missing, memorialized at Honolulu Memorial Location: Honolulu, Hawaii. In his Memory and Honor, a cenotaph memorial has been placed at the Elmwood Cemetery, located at Fruita, Colorado. This American Patriot received the following Decorations posthumously: Purple Heart and his Silver Wings. The Purple Heart was awarded for his Heroism, and ultimate sacrifice. He served his Country with Pride and Honor.
